I have been using YAC (Yet Another Caller) for several years. Recently switched from analog (phone line) modem to cable modem. YAC worked until I rebooted. Now says "Cannot initialize phone line". There is still a dialup modem in the PC tower and there are phone jacks on the modem box. When I connect the phone output to either of the new cable modem jacks, I get the same response. Any suggestions?

The only thing I could possibly think of is that Windows has been updated and break the compatibility of the application with the operating system, therefore affecting functionality.
Right click the application and choose Properties > Compatibility. From the drop-down menu, choose Windows XP and then launch it.
Also, the YAC application looks old and unsupported, therefore compatibility with the latest updates is questionable.
Which does YAC do:
display a caller id for an incoming call, or
clean up my computer?
I am looking for a caller id
This YAC (Yet Another Callerid) is a program to display the name and number of the phone calling you.
There is another YAC (Yet Another Cleaner) that cleans your PC. The original description is correct.
